Working Pattern - Monday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

As the Area Housing Manager within Housing and Technical Resources, you will be a member of the Housing Services Senior Management Team and the Extended Resource Management Team. You will strategically and operationally manage an Area Housing Office, driving forward improvements within the Service. You will be responsible for the delivery of a diverse range of services including: 

  • Housing Management
  • Decentralised Homelessness and Housing Support Services
  • Homelessness Prevention with person centred outcomes
  • Voids & allocations
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the Local Housing Strategy, Tenant Participation Strategy, Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy and Housing Contribution to integration of Health and Social Care
  • Cross Resource Strategies and Initiatives             

You will manage the effective delivery of local housing services in accordance with Council policy; and be responsible for promoting continuous service improvement and Best Value within the Service through performance assessment, establishing performance targets and indicators, service planning and staff motivation and development. 

Suitable candidates for this challenging role will demonstrate significant experience at a senior management level and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in operational management and leading successful teams. You will be able to demonstrate success in delivering organisational goals, be an excellent problem solver, have the ability to project manage, inspire, influence and build successful partnerships. 

The successful candidate will also have extensive experience of developing and delivering a comprehensive housing management service and be willing to works towards or qualified in the diploma of housing studies. 

You must have a detailed knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory procedures, the regulatory framework and influences in relation to the housing management functions and related services. 

You will be able to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined environment and drive forward a culture of best value, teamwork, accountability and success.

You will be eligible to participate in South Lanarkshire Council's Car Pool Scheme as it would be advantageous to have access to a vehicle for business purposes if required to travel to alternative locations.
