Full Job Description
The Head of Assessment Performance will lead on our Assessment Performance Monitoring, Improvements cycle and maintaining standards across International and UK qualifications. The role will focus on the implementation of a robust process, procedures and training across International and UK Qualifications.,
- Implement an effective assessment performance monitoring and improvement process and programme across UK and International portfolio working closely with colleagues.
- Promote best practices across the portfolio for ensuring first class, valid, reliable and fair assessment materials that best meet the needs of stakeholders, ensuring training is devised and delivered.
- Prepare for reform and capture best practice for our International and UK qualifications.
- Leading on maintaining content standards in Assessment across our qualifications through content and awarding.
- Manage and enhance key stakeholder relationships with cross functional areas to capture assessment risks and solutions. Assessment quality:
- Plan, implement and support the subject level improvement programme related to assessment across UK and International qualification portfolios.
- Create and manage a streamlined process for effectively and efficiently implementing changes to assessments.
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of technical assessment expertise and provides expertise to various stakeholders.
- Ensure that insights and customer feedback are shared impactfully with key stakeholders for assessment to engage with customer voice directly.
- Develop and utilise strategic relationships across the Pearson Schools Qualifications division.
- Advocate for innovation in assessment instruments and processes and develop expertise as a thought leader for future assessments in the UK and International portfolio.
- Capture best current and future assessment practice in preparation for future reform for our qualifications.
- Communicate changes made to qualifications prior to awarding activity begins and work with subject teams to ensure assessment functioning issues highlighted during awarding are addressed appropriately.
- Owning personal development in relation to building technical assessment expertise, including identifying training and development needs and opportunities and being responsible for continuous professional development of self and others within the division.
- Support, as required, customer facing meetings representing Pearson's Assessment performance work.
Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate about Education, and our customers. - Expertise in assessment practices and assessment design approaches.
- Has a detailed understanding of assessment development process and is aware of issues that may impact our customers, taking action to positively engage - effectively and empathetically.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work with tact and diplomacy in dealing with a range of people.
- Passionate about customer experience excellence and responsiveness.
- Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to formulate and clearly articulate a plan of action. In addition, to provide updates on progress and build in contingencies.
- Anticipates problems before they may arise, using initiative to deal with issues. Recognises when it is appropriate and necessary to escalate.
- Stakeholder management skills.
- Is able to effectively influence without authority.
- Positive attitude and flexible approach to work.
