Full Job Description

This role is responsible for evolving our Enterprise-wide Assurance Model which gives a proactive and holistic approach to risk, audit and compliance. The assurance framework has been established to be effective and efficient in addressing the group risk for the future. The role will continue to embed the framework to ensure a consistency of approach across the group is maintained. An essential part of the role is the ability to interact with, and influence people across the business to ensure they are engaged with the assurance agenda, and the wider risk, audit and compliance requirements. It will play the key role within the Global Risk Management Committee with a dotted line to the Audit Committee.Make an Impact Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Group Finance key responsibilities include;

  • Maintaining and evolving a group-wide risk management framework aligned to best practice
  • Ensuring the governance, oversight and management of risk is embedded across the business
  • + Leading the risk management process + Working as a business partner with senior management team members on their risk management strategies. + Acting as the key point of contact for risk management issues
  • Maintaining the evolving group-wide internal control framework, including the implementation and governance of an annual internal control self-assessment process and control validation programme.
  • Continuing to develop the enterprise-wide internal audit function to give independent assessment of the first and second lines of defence responsibilities: this will cover areas wider than finance such as operations, HR, IT and commercial.
  • Further develop the culture, ethics and behaviour that support the assurance agenda to enable better decision making, protection and value add for the business.
  • Proactively review what is on the horizon with regards to controls and risk and make recommendations on the implications and requirements for the group

    Are a senior qualified audit or finance professional, with substantial experience gained either in an external or internal audit, risk or finance environment
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of best practice Corporate Governance behaviours and best practice risk management processes
  • Are professional and discreet, with the ability to judge when information must be treated confidentially
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively with all departments across the organisation, building strong working relationships and credibility at all levels
  • Are confident and capable of influencing people throughout the organisation, with the ability to develop and maintain a strong network
  • Have experience of operating at a senior level preparing and presenting papers for a range of audiences, including Audit Committees and Executive Boards
  • Have strong analytical & problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Are a strong people leader with a passion for the development of individuals

  • Salary £100,000- £110,000 per annum
