Full Job Description

The role holder plays an integral part in the Corporate Affairs leadership team and is responsible for delivering communications and public relations strategies that promote and protect AGS brand. The role holder also plays a key role influencing business leaders and external stakeholders in media to support the delivery of impactful and effective communications aligned with business strategy and AGS s values.,

  • Responsible for the shaping and delivery of the Corporate Affairs strategy to achieve positive brand in line with business plans.

  • Lead a team of skilled professionals to drive the public affairs strategy to promote and protect business and brand.

  • Lead on strategic communications and provide communications expertise to the Corporate Affairs team and wider leadership team, supporting and developing design briefs, communications for project delivery etc.

  • Support the CAD in developing stakeholder management strategy that has high impact on business performance.

  • Oversee the management of corporate affairs calendars ensuring content and timings are aligned to business strategy.

  • Build and nurture strong network and fruitful relationships with prominent and relevant leaders and external stakeholders including media. This includes representing AGS at key networking events including speaking opportunities.

  • Support PR Manager in driving the delivery of a wider communications plan, ensuring activities are aligned to business strategy.

  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting AGS and make appropriate recommendations regarding communications strategy surrounding them.

  • Work closely with the team to ensure high impact, quality communication solutions are delivered for a range of key stakeholders., ensuring they are clear, consistent, and aligned with AGS s goals and values.

  • Work productively with stakeholders to build messaging with compelling content.

  • Work closely with CAD and Senior leadership to develop and shape brand and visual identity for AGS.

  • Support crisis management strategies to alleviate situations and maintain positive reputation.

  • Support the CAD to manage budgets, allocate resources within the Corporate Affairs function.

  • Create great experience for all customers both internal and external by instilling high levels of customer service across our teams and the wider business.

  • Support the wider /corporate affairs team and business leaders to drive communications relating to safety, security, and sustainability across the business, helping to embed a positive safety and security culture by demonstrable behaviours which are integral to all aspects of our business and to be serious about sustainability.

  • Develop competence of the corporate affairs team through internal coaching and strong performance management promoting our listen, respond, support, and share ethos to achieve high levels of engagement and proud colleagues.

    Communications qualification or related field. Having a blend of industry and business knowledge is key.

  • A proven track record in managing communications and corporates affairs in a sizeable, commercial organisation with demonstrable experience in driving engagement and building positive brand recognition.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of how the UK media operates.

  • Familiar with political processes, structures and relationships.

  • Experience of media crisis management with experience of providing advice and support to senior leadership teams.

  • Experience of working at management level with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with key stakeholders

  • Ability to network and interact at all levels.

  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and deliver to deadlines using creative and innovative media.

  • Good problem-solving skills with ability to strategize and devise solutions.

  • Excellent communicator at all levels with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to express themselves and work at any level.

  • Advanced skills in various computer software programs such as MS word, PowerPoint, and other communication business tools., The role is an integral member of the AGS Leadership team and operates with a high degree of autonomy. It requires the implicit use of personal drive/motivation, initiative, and innovation. There is a requirement for strength in building relationships and leading impactful communication & PR strategies, with a high level of resilience to achieve highly effective outcomes across a range of measures.

    This is a permanent, full time role and will be based at Glasgow Airport, with frequent travel to other UK locations .
