Full Job Description

Robert Gordon’s College is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to lead the next phase of development in helping learners with additional support needs in both our Junior and Senior schools. Our aim is to provide seamless, tailored support for learners aged 3-18, including at all levels of Scottish National Qualifications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and qualified teacher of learning support/additional support needs. The successful applicant will lead a highly committed team, driving excellent teaching and learning within a supportive environment that considers individual needs of learners. The successful candidate will be expected to create an environment that delivers individualised support for pupils and work closely with teachers to allow them to deliver appropriate support in lessons. Pupils will be encouraged to develop characteristics such as leadership, curiosity, self-organisation, awareness and resilience when facing challenges.

The Head of Additional Support for Learning will report to two members of the Joint Senior Leadership Team (one from the Junior School and one from the Senior School). This is a full time, permanent position.

Salary will be based on the national SNCT scale, together with the Robert Gordon’s Allowance above SNCT scale. Candidates will be expected to be willing to actively participate in the College’s vibrant co-curricular programme. The College provides excellent professional development opportunities and supports staff who want to pursue ongoing training or qualifications.
