Full Job Description

WA is assisting a Not-For-Profit organisation in the Scottish Borders in their search for a Head of Finance Governance.

The Head of Finance and Governance is responsible for leading the finance team as well as overseeing governance and procurement activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high performing finance team and become a key member of the leadership team.

The role is based in the Scottish Borders, our client has an agile working policy in place which allows flexible working from home or office.

Typically one day per week in the office is required and attendance at biweekly leadership meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading a high performing finance team, ensuring a robust control environment supported by clear policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the provision of dynamic, interactive, and real time financial information including monthly management reports, quarterly management accounts, financial accounts, KPI and performance analysis.
  • Support the development of, and implement, financial and procurement strategies, driving a culture of maximising value for money.
  • Oversee governance and risk management activities, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Manage office related contracts, ensuring compliant procurement.
  • Oversee maintenance of contract register. Using contract register produce annual procurement plan to ensure procurements commence well in advance of contract renewal date.

About You:

  • Chartered Accountant.
  • Experience of leading and developing a finance team.
  • Successful track record in developing and implementing financial and procurement management processes.
  • Understanding of statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, able to work on own initiative, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
