Band 8b £70,986 - £75,937 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen with NHS Western Isles, to join us as our new Head of Information Technology and Digital Health. This is a senior position to lead on the strategic direction and operational management for the IT and digital health agenda.

You will bring an innovative outlook and have responsibility for the strategic portfolio across a range of information technology (IT) and digital health areas. These include digital transformation, strategy, governance, IT and communications infrastructure, information management, and digital operations. Your role will involve leading the planning and design of digital business processes, as well as providing expert direction and support for digital solutions that support clinical and non-clinical processes. Significant experience in leadership and change management in a large, complex organisation is essential for this post.

Known as Scotlands Atlantic Islands, the Western Isles are steeped in history and culture, with stunning landscapes, spectacular coastlines, a strong sense of community and identity, and renowned Hebridean hospitality. For those with young families, the Western Isles also offer a safe place to live, a high-quality education system, with low levels of crime.
