Our team consists of Lending, Asset Finance, Commercial Cards and Invoice Finance and our Lending Platform in support of transformation across them. Our goal is to provide products and propositions to businesses of all sizes in the UK. The provision of these is grounded in our deep understanding of clients' needs enabling them to optimise and increase their cashflow, manage risk and fund growth. We're searching for a new Head of Lending Products reporting directly to the Manager Director, L&WC. Lending is at the heart of meeting evolving customer needs and consistent with our group purpose of Helping Britain Prosper and plays a pivotal role to the success of our Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) division. You'll be accountable for all channels, product management and development, the financial and risk outcomes and the end-to-end journey across all BCB's segments including Business Banking, SME and Mid Corporates representing more than 1m customers. We're in the middle of an exciting transformation and growth phase against a competitive landscape. Leading a team of 25 Product specialists, you'll inspire and lead the team on a key ground-breaking journey, whilst playing a meaningful role amongst the L&WC leadership team! Responsibilities: The role will include defining and delivering against the strategy, setting and managing financial, customer and transformation objectives across the end to end operating model. The opportunity to grow the product working in partnership with the Commercial Lending Platform, Credit and developing our ESG agenda makes this role even more interesting. The individual will need to influence both internally and externally by delivering the value for the Group and increasing support for UK businesses. There is scope to increase the reach of the role as we continue to evolve. You'll therefore require expert leadership and influencing capabilities to design and deliver simple, strategic solutions whilst leading, coaching and influencing the wider RM teams, Digital Channel, Operations and Risk teams. What You'll Need

  • Prior experience of product management including the delivery of financial, strategic metrics, credit, risk and client experience metrics
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to identify tactical and strategic improvement opportunities, informed by both internal performance metrics and broader industry and market insight.
  • Experienced leader able to distil often complex problems into easy to understand outcomes and lead their team to success, delivering business results through others by coaching, training & developing.
  • Commercial skills, being able to set out and make trade offs for the best outcome.
  • Ability to Communicate, present and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation, including the Group Executive Committee (GEC).
  • Utilises customer and market insights, in collaboration with propositions and platform teams, to make strategic recommendations at a senior level.
  • Delivery of strategic digitisation activity to increase share of market, increase size of addressable market and mitigate current infrastructure risk.
  • Work closely with the key partners across the Group, developing and maintaining relationships to support effective outcomes and driving an end-to-end view to drive good customer and regulatory outcomes as well as market share and revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain an effective external network to remain close to customer needs, market innovation and regulatory change.
