West Lothian Council, is a leading local authority with a proven track record of innovation, performance and achievement.  The council aims to continue to support growth in a thriving local community and with significant financial and demographic challenges ahead, Finance and Property Services have a key role to play in supporting the transformation of council services. We are therefore, looking to appoint an experienced senior manager to lead and manage through challenging times.

As Head of Service, you will be responsible for ensuring that all service activities within Finance and Property Services are effectively integrated and focused towards delivering agreed council service and outcomes.   

As a member of the council’s Executive Management Team, you will contribute to the development and planning of the council’s overall strategic objectives and will have a major role to play in influencing its direction. 

You will also fulfill the role of the council’s Chief Financial Officer, Section 95 Officer and will be responsible for the administration of arrangements that must be made for the council for the proper administration of its financial affairs.

You will bring leadership, energy and vision and have a proven track record of success in managing a similar portfolio of services at a senior level.  You will have strong stakeholder management, strategic partnership capability, and an unfaltering commitment to getting it right for communities.

You will be an innovative thinker, focused on effective outcomes and capable of delivering business objectives through effective people, resource and financial management with a focus on continuous drive for improvement.

A relevant professional qualification is essential as is registration with an appropriate professional accountancy body.

Salary: £115,958 - £120,407
