Full Job Description

Anderson Knight Recruitment is delighted to partner with one of our key clients, a leading Energy organisation, to support their search for a Head of Working Capital. This newly created role is part of their efforts to build a robust finance function as they centralise their operations to Scotland.


As the Head of Working Capital, you will play a pivotal role in optimising the company’s cash flow management and ensuring the sustainability of its financial operations. This position is central to driving financial efficiency and strategic decision-making, offering significant impact and visibility across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the preparation and completion of 12-month rolling cash forecasts, providing critical insights to support financial planning and stability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed working capital reports, including comprehensive variance analysis, to ensure accurate and actionable financial insights.
  • Influence FBP’s to analyse trends to identify actions required
  • Oversee accounts payable and Receivable functions
  • Lead, grow and develop a small team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives
  • Identify and implement best practices in cash flow and working capital management, driving continuous improvement across financial operations.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to your team, ensuring the effective delivery of working capital initiatives.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in cash flow management and working capital optimisation
  • Finance qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret financial data and present insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a track record of influencing and collaborating at all organisational levels.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and advanced Excel skills.
