Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring leader with the skills, confidence and energy to make a positive impact on the lives of our children?

We are seeking someone who can lead our school community, develop learning and teaching and ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.

You should have experience of leading aspects of improvement across a school. You should be able to talk about your leadership skills and the impact the improvement activity has had on outcomes for learners. You should have experience of leading a team. This could include leading a working group or staff team to drive improvement.

Ideally, you will also have experience in a leadership post. This could include a middle leader, central officer or headteacher post.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of our small rural schools, to support the school community to demonstrate their school STAR values, Supportive, Togetherness, Ambition and Respect. This post will include a teaching commitment for part of the week but at PKC, we will ensure you have a support network in place. You will be supported by your QIO, be linked with a peer Headteacher who will be your Critical Colleague, and have access to a Headteacher induction programme; the Leading Change Programme.

The Head Teachers Education and Training (Scotland) Regulations 2019 require candidates who are appointed to their first permanent Head Teacher post from 1 August 2020 to have attained the Standard for Headship. If you have not gained this qualification, appointment can only be made on a fixed term basis for maximum period of 30 months. Perth & Kinross Council are committed to supporting candidates gain this qualification.
