Health Care Support Worker-Inpatient Mental Health Nursing

The shift pattern for this position is 24/7.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Support Worker to join the team at our National Inpatient Unit in Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Ward 4 is a 6 bed ward, providing assessment and clinical interventions to young people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.

The successful applicant will:

• Preferably have experience of working in an inpatient setting and working with young people and families with complex needs.
• Work within a large multidisciplinary team, and play a key role in supporting young people in their recovery.
• Be responsible for the assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care programmes using a strength based, recovery focused approach that proactively involves the young person.
• Be required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision working in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.
• There will also be a requirement to work in both community and home settings.

This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. You will be expected to work between the Child Psychiatry Inpatient Unit and the Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Unit as needs arise.
