Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday.

 (Please note the salary would be Pro Rata) for part time hours.

An opportunity has arisen for a 31.6 hour post in Outpatients and Pre-Operative Assessment. 

The successful candidate would be expected to work over 5 days covering both Outpatients and Pre Op Assessment. 

The job consists of chaperoning patients during examinations, taking and recording blood pressures, height, weight, pulse, temperature and urinalysis. Phlebotomy is part of the role also and training will be provided for this.  Ensuring the department and rooms are clean and set up for the relevant clinics which include general surgery, minor surgery, general medicine, orthopaedics, renal, diabetic, respiratory, rheumatology, cardiology, Ear Nose and Throat, oncology, plastic surgery, urology, neurology and gastroenterology.  Part of the role will be to answer telephone calls, take messages and co-ordinate the running of clinics in both Outpatients and Pre Op Assessment.
