Role: Health & Safety Advisor
Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Scotland

Role Overview

Our client is firmly established within the civil engineering sector across Scotland as well as the UK, covering a wide range of projects including infrastructure, renewables, land remediation, landscaping, drainage, culverts, residential developments, and frameworks. Their track record speaks for itself—they've completed some of the UK's most iconic and technically challenging projects. They are on the lookout for a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join a dynamic civil engineering team on a permanent basis. As a privately-owned cross-sector principal contractor, our client has been thriving with a string of successful project awards across Scotland

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a robust health, safety, environment, and quality ethos within the leadership teams.
  • Lead by example and promote compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Provide accurate data and reports on legislative issues and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures by providing necessary resources and support to team members.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE procedures for regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits and accreditations, managing internal and external audits effectively.
  • Conduct investigations as necessary, delivering timely and accurate reports.
  • Provide training based on insights from past and current projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a civil engineering environment.
  • Previous experience in a health & safety role.
  • NEBOSH Diploma and CSCS certification.
  • A proactive approach to driving change in HSE procedures.
  • A commitment to upholding health & safety standards across all operations.
  • A forward-thinking attitude towards fostering a positive H&S culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across Scotland.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
