Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Kepak . As a Health and Safety Coordinator you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. Working closely with the Kepak team to ensure we are compliant with industry and legislative requirements, that our processes are safe and demonstrate good practice. In order ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, full-time, core hours 37.5hrs per week. Requirements
- Be a Behavioural Based Safety Champion, supporting departments with BBS observations and safe ways of working.
- Be visible on site (including all production areas), engaging positively with staff and visitors.
- Complete routine site inspections and checks, including fire exit and escape route, fire extinguisher and fire doors, first aid room/supplies and eye wash stations.
- Identify hazards and work with the H&S Manager to improve, change or find safe ways of mitigating risks. Report non-compliance issues in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete regular internal H&S audits, and track findings through to completion.
- Conduct the fire alarm and fire drills.
- Deliver site H&S inductions when required.
- Assist in the development of SHE policies, processes, procedures, and guidance material.
- Support in the delivery of toolbox talks and time out for safety sessions.
- Action accident/incident investigations as required.
- Develop and work with production teams to produce and review accurate and safe systems of work within our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Maintain all relevant SHE databases and records including (but not limited to) the incident database and reports, Safety reports, safety briefing sign offs and audit reports.
- Creating and monitoring of Risk Assessments.
- Maintain COSHH database ensuring records are up to date and communicated.
- Supporting / coaching site management to actively review and write Risk Assessments.
- Support in the improvement of quality in accident and incident investigations, being first line of support in ensuring these are carried out in the right way and any required actions are completed.
- Educate teams on near miss reporting and awareness.
- Maintain the H&S system, updating with daily and weekly checks, monitoring issues, and working with relevant teams to close out actions.
- Be a partner for supervisors and managers on all things H&S.
- Working with the Training Co-ordinator to deliver training on basic safety practices.
- Build on our established reporting procedures and ensure documentation is kept up to date and in line with legislation.
- Work with H&S Manager to deliver weekly/monthly/annual KPI reporting.
- Identify, support, and drive HS improvement projects and actions.
- Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.

- Experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred
