Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available in Ward 43 for a keen and dedicated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker.
We currently have 1 x 37 hour post
Ward 43 are looking to recruit a HCSW with a compassionate, caring nature who will focus on the delivery of high quality care in a very busy, Acute Ward environment.
We care for patients with a variety of medical conditions particularly respiratory illnesses, such as COPD, ILD, Lung CA, Bronchiectasis.
You will also be:
Dedicated and motivated in providing exceptional patient focused care
Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
Work well within a multi disciplinary team and individually
Support the staff nurses and ward team
You will be fully supported in the induction of your role, allowing you to attend relevant training, you must also be committed to your own professional development
Be competent in practicing a variety of clinical skills (can be discussed at interview)
Have, or working towards SVQ level 3
Assist in the safe transfer and discharge of patients in ward 43, requiring appropriate communication with the relevant MDT and professionals out with the hospital setting.
Have a knowledge of tissue viability with up to date training in this speciality
The post requires the holder to work an 11.5 hour shift including both Dayshift and Nightshift working patterns.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
