The Post: 

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role as part of NHS Scotland. NHS National Services Scotlands mission is to enable and support the delivery of better care working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care. Suitable applicants are invited to join a hard-working team in Blood Bank / Immunohaematology of the Transfusion Centre.

The Candidate:

We are currently looking for a reliable person to join our clinical laboratory team. You will be trained to carry out a range of general duties to provide vital support for the Biomedical scientist staff in our Clinical Laboratory. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach to work. No relevant experience is required as full training will be given however excellent data inputting skills and fluency in the English language are essential. Applicants must also hold a valid, full manual driving licence.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post will be based in Aberdeen Blood Transfusion Centre.

The work pattern for this post is Monday to Sunday, 37 hours per week. 

In the Blood Bank a 24/7 shift roster is in operation and permanent post holders must participate.  Agenda for Change remuneration rates for shift working apply.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
