Full Job Description
Within the Women and Childrens Directorate, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, conscientious Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. The paediatric unit consists of an ambulatory care department, an acute medical paediatric ward and outpatient departments in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, flexible individual to join our current team of staff. The successful candidate will be required to provide basic care of children and their parents, maintain a high standard of hygiene and maintain the provisions necessary for nursing and medical staff to offer quality care.
You will be given a full orientation programme during which you will be supernummery and have the opportunity to work with the Paediatric Education Facilitator. Full support will be given to develop this role.
Informal enquiries can be directed to SCN Pauline Hunter on Ext.29047
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
