Full Job Description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is 37 hours /5 days per week.

Greater Glasgow & Clyde forms the largest Health Authority in the UK which provides Audiology services over a large area of inner city and rural populations. The service is currently staffed by a clinical team of Assistant Technical Officers, Hearing Aid Audiologists and Audiologists supported by a dedicated Administration and Clerical Team. The majority of the service is based within our Acute Hospitals, the service runs independently using its own patient management system and has full autonomy over the booking of patients and scheduling of activities in general. We are looking for highly motivated, flexible person to join our existing hard working and dedicated team. We would be keen to hear from individuals currently qualified as a HAA and working in the field of Audiology.

Requirements of this post include:

Qualified as a HAA

Current registration with HCPC or equivalent desirable.

A positive attitude and an ability to work in a team as well as being able to make decisions when working single handed.

The ability to problem solve and use initiative.

Ability to work with hearing impaired individuals and their family/carers.

Evidence of having worked with adults with hearing impairment

Good knowledge of current working practices and developments within audiology.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
