Full Job Description

The shift pattern is Monday-Thursday 0900-1700 Friday 0830-1600

We are seeking an expert practitioners in cardiac ultrasound to join our cardiac physiology team in NHSGGC South Sector; based at the New Victoria ACH with occasional cross site working at West Glasgow ACH and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH).The role includes contributing to the clinical leadership of the service, and development and supervision of the team as well as contributing to the operational management of the NVACH cardiac physiology service as a whole.

NHSGGC serves the largest catchment population in Scotland, with South Sector hospitals serving more than half of this with a cardiac physiology workforce of 58 WTE.

There is a well-established progressive echocardiography service which includes, Cardiology Outpatients, Stress Echocardiography and an expansive service to the wider specialities provided across the South Sector.

In addition, NVACH participates in several GGC-wide Physiologist-led GP direct access services (including the investigation of murmurs, palpitations and heart failure).

The devices service provides routine pacemaker follow up, complex device follow up, including CRT and HIS Bundle follow up and an extensive remote follow up service covering all major manufacturers.

We support a broad range of both clinical and non-clinical educational activities and there is good access to funding opportunities. We also value the transferable skills acquired through other professional activities and would be especially keen to attract a progressive, outward looking individual who is actively engaged with the wider healthcare science or cardiology community.
