Full Job Description

Oakminster Healthcare is looking for friendly and caring individuals to join our Housekeeping team, which provides essential cleaning services for our care homes. We believe our staff are one of our most valuable resources in enhancing the quality of life for our service users, who are at the centre of everything we do. As part of the care team, the Housekeeper will have some contact with residents and must be approachable and friendly.
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the Housekeeping team, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is maintained.
Allocate cleaning tasks and ensure all areas are cleaned as required.
Ensure staff are available for routine cleaning and unexpected situations.
Inspect rooms and ensure they are cleaned to company standards.
Monitor and replenish stock levels of cleaning supplies and consumables.
Follow health and safety regulations and company-related practices.
Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
Additional Duties:
Vacuum floors, dust, clean surfaces, and perform any cleaning required under the direction of the Nurse on duty.
Perform high dusting and wash down paintwork, particularly in public areas (e.g., hallways, sitting rooms, staircases, lifts).
Supervise domestic staff to keep the home clean and tidy at all times.
Spot clean carpets daily, where necessary.
Empty wastebaskets and clean the laundry room.
Remove used linen to the laundry.
Conduct thorough room cleanings on a fortnightly basis.
Clean high and low areas as required.
