Full Job Description

  • Keep the Nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, staff and families

  • Encourage and model behaviour, which is appropriate in a child environment, being professional at all times

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children's bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day

  • To carry out daily laundry duties as required

  • To respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality, for example being aware of personal information regarding children

  • Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking of certain domestic tasks within the nursery e.g., supporting over mealtimes and cleaning of equipment

    Previous experience of cleaning within a domestic or commercial property, preferably in a nursery or care home setting.

  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post

  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety requirements

  • Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents
