Full Job Description

Anderson Knight are supporting a client based in Glasgow to recruit an experienced HR Adviser.


As an HR Adviser you will provide expert advice, guidance, and support on a wide range of ER issues. Working closely with managers and employees, you will ensure that all ER cases are handled effectively, fairly, and in line with company policies and current employment legislation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR support on employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, and conflict resolution
  • Offer coaching and guidance to managers to ensure effective handling of ER cases
  • Lead and manage formal employee relations cases from start to finish, ensuring timely resolution
  • Advise on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, making sure they are followed across the business
  • Support HR projects related to employee engagement, well-being, and organisational development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and ensure compliance
  • Assist in the development of HR policies and practices to enhance employee experience
  • Work closely with the wider HR team on initiatives to improve workplace culture and staff retention

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong generalist background with experience in employee relations and a solid understanding of UK employment law. You will be confident in providing ER advice and guidance to managers and enjoy working in a collaborative HR team.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in an HR advisory role with exposure to employee relations
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple ER cases simultaneously
  • Ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees across all levels
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
  • Drivers Licence is essential due to occasional travel
