Full Job Description

Are you a HR professional looking for a new role? Our client is looking for maternity cover lasting for 12 months that may be extended based in East Kilbride. The ideal candidate will be working 3 days a week. The role will require the candidate to travel up and down the UK, however you get to control your own schedule. The key role will be helping leaderships teams achieve the company’s goals and objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Build highly effective relationships with all stakeholders, living the business values, acting as a role model and ensuring a positive culture exists where colleagues can thrive and drive the business forward
  • Provide senior level solution focused coaching, playing the role of trusted advisor and thought leader to senior leaders to challenge business thinking and aid the required decision making  
  • Champion colleague engagement through effective partnering of senior leaders ensuring appropriate leadership practices, standards, communication and actions are in place.
  • Undertake talent and succession planning reviews, ensuring that we are developing our capability with a relentless drive to raise the levels of capability across the business  
  • Manage change in a highly effective manner, ensuring all business reorganisations and change projects including TUPE’s are managed in line with legislation, policy and cultural values
  • Work with the wider HR function to ensure we are delivering a first class, market leading service that ensures sustainable success
  • Drive the implementation of the people plans to focus on attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining the best talent through using data, insight and support of COE and Shared Services
  • Coach and build the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues.
  • Provide business reality insight across a range of People challenges to support the design of high impact solutions that meet the needs of the business. Role model values and leadership and take an active role in holding others to account at the same level. Proactively share best practice, intelligence and potential pan-business activities within People function.
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practice in the areas of expertise and HR more broadly.
  • Identify clear areas of focus which significantly contribute to business growth and ruthlessly deliver plans against these such as critical capabilities, performance management, engagement (inc DEI & wellbeing), leadership capability etc
  • Ensure an assertive approach to managing performance, increasing overall skills and capabilities in the business, increasing the level of empowerment and ability to manage change.

About you:


  • Highly developed HRBP experience partnering and coaching senior leaders with a demonstrable track record of achieving success in a geographically dispersed, customer facing organisation  
  • Demonstratable ability to ruthlessly prioritise and achieve quality and on time delivery of critical activities  
  • Personal integrity, dependability and confidentiality
  • An ability to work in an agile environment that also has a high level of ambiguity
  • Ability to question and challenge the status quo, shows curiosity to listen and learn and identify causal influences
  • Ability to translate data into insight
  • Knowledge and application of different leadership styles to support coaching, feedback, engagement and influencing Last Updated April 2023
  • Commercially minded and able to quickly grasp the business success metrics of the areas that they support.
  • Credibility to sit on functional leadership teams and contribute to the business conversations and decisions
  • Strong ER capability and understanding of employment law

  • Where necessary, can facilitate across multiple people to resolve significant conflicts  
  • Takes initiative and operates with little direct supervision to own the people activity in their area

  • Represents and promotes the reputation of HR and takes accountability for the actions of the HR team
