Job Description

Corporate Services

HR Consultant – Organisational Development - Fixed term for 6 months
Waverley Court

Salary: £30,751 - £36,312
Hours: 36 per week

We have an opportunity within the Organisational Development team for a highly motivated individual who leads by example. The successful candidate will demonstrate integrity, flexibility and respect in all they do and will take responsibility for delivering superb outcomes for our colleagues.

Working with other HR Consultants and Senior HR Consultants you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects designing and delivering solutions and campaigns to deliver the commitments in our People Strategy 2024 to 2027.

One specific area of focus will be to support our communication and engagement with colleagues across several hundred different services within the Council. You'll be supporting different ways to communicate with our managers and colleagues about people-related projects including surveys, events, learning and guidance. If you’re passionate about OD and want to continue to develop your skills and experience – this role is for you.

The Human Resources team is based at Waverley Court, but there is a degree of flexibility of working locations, along with an element of home working available in all roles.

As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we’re bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.

To help achieve this, we’re changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach. This new way of interviewing will allow us to assess how you think and how you would bring Our Behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility into your ways of working.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

You can find out more on Our Behaviours web page Our Behaviours – The City of Edinburgh Council

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
