Full Job Description
Join us as a Human Centred Design Manager
- We’ll look to you to shape the user experience and design of new and existing digital solutions for our customers through the human centred design (HCD) centre of excellence
- You’ll be identifying opportunities to improve our existing digital experiences, focusing on their usefulness, usability, visual design, content and branding
- There's plenty of scope for career development as you work with a number of stakeholders and gain exposure across the bank
- We're offering this role for a period of ten months
What you'll do
In this key role, you’ll bring your understanding and knowledge of HCD creative disciplines to make day-to-day banking for our customers effortless. Working closely with our internal teams and external partners, you’ll be applying HCD methods to translate and identify customer needs and balancing these with business objectives and technology to improve user experiences with commercial impact.
You’ll also be:
- Providing high quality consultancy and working collaboratively to drive and deliver improvements
- Leading our third party partners and internal HCD design teams from briefing to end delivery
- Shaping HCD design and research briefs, making sure that our new experiences are of the highest quality, meeting both user and business objectives
- Embedding user experience best practices across our community of experience and journey managers, creating and improving guidelines, driving consistency and ensuring the benefits are understood
- Coaching and mentoring our teams, building HCD knowledge and advocacy of good user experience and design
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with experience working in a digital role focused on user experience or design. Ideally, you'll come from a background in a design-related discipline, such as product design, user research, interaction design, graphic design or digital optimisation.
You'll demonstrate an expert understanding of human and user-centred design methods, as well as usability, user research and accessibility design.
You'll also have:
- Experience of working with Agile methods, as well as the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- An understanding of the business, market trends, customer needs and the operational strategies that contribute to business success
- Experience of working with agencies and third parties, from briefing to delivery
- The ability to solve problems, understand issues and identify opportunities with the customer in mind throughout
- Experience of working with large scale digital estates and a wide variety of stakeholders
- Excellent influencing and storytelling skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback to a variety of stakeholders at different levels
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a keen eye for detail
