Full Job Description

This is a key position supporting the National HVAC manager in delivery of reactive and planned maintenance by providing technical assistance and support. This role will depend on your ability to manage your regional supervisors and client relationships by ensuring that good working relationships are maintained and built upon.

The role is responsible for effectively leading and managing the HVAC teams to ensure reactive and planned works are completed to the highest standard and adhere to all regulatory standards. This role will also be responsible for overseeing all technical standards, development and support of training requirements with the operational field.

All work will need to be completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid down Company Health and Safety policies.,

  • Responsible for leading and managing the HVAC service delivery to multiple sites; comprising of superstores, supermarkets and distribution depots.

  • To be the first point of call for regional supervisors, technical support and PPM engineers for technical queries, service delivery support and assistance in relation to Gas equipment

  • To ensure that all national PPM's are delivered within the agreed timescales and SLA's.

  • To control and manage all national costs to ensure that they remain within the agreed budget.

  • To control and manage the F Gas usage

  • To ensure that the national F Gas usage is 100% compliant.

  • Act as the 2nd line support for all people related issues to include; performance management and disciplinary and grievance hearings.

  • To provide technical support and advise to the Divisional Operations Managers of any repairs and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of a store.

  • Attend the regional Divisional Operations Managers meetings as required

  • Chair supervisor meetings and support the National HVAC Manager

  • To actively promote "best practice", i.e. ensuring consistent effective and efficient techniques, processes and procedures are adopted throughout field operations.

  • In conjunction with the national HVAC manger, formulate the asset business plans, agree revenue and expenditure budgets and performance monitoring procedures relating to regional refrigeration teams.

  • To sponsor and complete HVAC surveys, bulletins, and technical reports as necessary and to cascade all key data to relevant personnel throughout field operations.

  • To ensure that all members of the regional HVAC team comply with all Health and Safety regulations and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.

  • Attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.

  • High degree of flexibility in working hours and the types of jobs undertaken.

  • High degree of mobility - with regular travel required.

    GCSE/Standard

  • NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.

  • City and Guilds 2381 17th/18th Edition.

  • Fully conversant with all major manufactures systems and equipment

  • In depth knowledge of HVAC systems

  • Previous HVAC managerial/supervisory experience in a retail position

  • Previous people management

  • Strong PC literacy to include Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint

  • Full and valid driving licence

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to extract, collate and present data

  • Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills

  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making

  • Strong results focus, takes accountability for own performance and that of the team

  • Highly flexible and self-starting. The role will have many challenges and a flexible approach will be needed.
