Full Job Description

Base Location: Foyers Power Station, Inverness + Travel to other power station in the Foyers and Great Glen area., As a Hydro Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer within the Foyers and Great Glen section Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and development of hydro-electric M&E plant, equipment, and related systems, primarily in Foyers power station, but occasionally in other sections as well across the Great Glen.

Your work will cover a wide range of M&E infrastructure, plant, equipment, and systems associated with hydro-electric production (dams, rivers, tunnels, aqueducts, power stations; large mechanical/electrical rotating plant; HV electrical systems), such as valves, gates, pumps, turbines, generators, bearings, excitation systems, static frequency converters, governors, circuit breakers, transformers, LVAC systems, etc.

Some of your other accountabilities will include:

- Applying a robust yet realistic maintenance and inspection methodology.

- Strategic maintenance and operations planning and budget submission.

- The planning, scheduling, co-ordination, and completion of routine works, emergent works, and defects.

- The management of various scales of projects and contracts.

- Working seamlessly as part of a team, assisting and supervising colleagues, staff, and contractors as required.

We are looking for a confident and innovative self-starter with a pragmatic approach to maintenance/engineering. You will be keen to develop your theoretical and practical knowledge, skills, and experience. You will be comfortable with a challenging workload and will prioritise your work to suit business and production requirements.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A degree level qualification, or HNC with experience in an appropriate engineering discipline.

- Competency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt these to a variety of Stakeholder levels.

- Experience of working in a hands-on, front-line, production focused, maintenance/engineering environment.

- Familiar with the safety and environmental aspects of hydro-electric production and an aptitude to become a Senior Authorised Person.

Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally reside or be willing to relocate to within a 40 miles radius of the Foyers Site.

Salary: £52,285 - £60,730 depending on skills and experience + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
