As an Independent Decision Maker (IDM) you will lead the effective delivery of council priorities to vulnerable children involved in Child Protection or Looked After process.   Your role will be to carry out statutory reviews for Looked After Children and chair Child Protection Planning Meetings (CPPM).  You will take the lead in promoting and further developing high standards in review processes and CPPM’s through quality assurance monitoring and training within Children's Services and with partner agencies.

You will need to have a good knowledge of Care Planning and Reviewing regulations, a good understanding of current safeguarding and child protection issues; underpinning guidance and legislation relating to children.

You must be a qualified Social Worker, registered with the SSSC and have significant experience in working within children’s settings.
