This role is based within the Advice Shop, where the successful candidate will support the delivery of a new project funded by the Advice in Accessible Settings Fund.

The successful candidate will work to promote income maximisation and alleviate poverty through advice and advocacy in the areas of welfare benefits/appeals, money/housing and energy advice.

This post is to improve access to services for people who have barriers to mainstream delivery channels through a consistent approach across different community settings.

The role will provide a targeted service within community settings and work alongside a range of key community partners, working in partnership to ensure that the customer is at the centre of a high-quality advice service.

Empathy, listening skills and understanding are vital to excel in this role. You will also will advocate on behalf of customers with other Council services and third party organisations, so good communication skills are vital.
