Full Job Description

A new opportunity has arisen for an Information and Cyber Security Manager to join our IT and Security Team.

This is a business-focussed role with an understanding of latest technology trends and related threats, educating staff about cyber security risks and best practices. It requires the ambition and focus to drive through the required changes of a growing organisation against a background of evolving regulation and a rapidly evolving threat horizon in the Information Security, Data Protection and Records Management domains.

By building a culture of security awareness whilst maintaining up-to-date security polices, this role is instrumental in protecting client data and maintaining trust in our services.

Role Responsibility

Working with IT teams to deliver operationally secure and resilient services, this role will oversee the security of IT infrastructure including hardware, software and data. This will involve implementing robust security measures and ensuring we regularly update systems to protect against vulnerabilities, whilst also ensuring we develop and implement response plans for cyber incidents to minimise impact and ensure quick recovery.

Working with the Head of IT and Security, you will determine acceptable levels of risk for the organisation whilst identifying and mitigating risks to the security of network and information systems, balancing protection against cyber threats with operational effectiveness.

The role will act as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of participant employee and business information in full compliance with the organisation's information security policies.

Ideal candidates for this role will have a minimum of 8 years' experience in Information & Cyber Security and a working knowledge of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

Subject Matter Expertise and knowledge in the field, including best practice standards such as ISO27001, NIST, Cyber essentials and security by design is necessary.

You will also be experienced working on complex and business critical Hybrid Multi Cloud systems and creating detailed reports and giving presentations to users and executive management.

Practical experience with security in AI and automation, and the ability to analyse complex problems and propose solutions while satisfying any constraints imposed by the business is required as well.

Ideally, you will also have experience of IT frameworks and practices (e.g. MS Agile, TOGAF ITIL, Prince2).
