Full Job Description

As an SDS Information Officer, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with individuals, carers, families, and Health and Social Care partners across the Forth Valley area. Your role will be crucial in increasing the number of people who feel informed, confident, and empowered to take control of their social care decisions. Experience in delivering training, support, or guidance will be highly beneficial, as you will be conducting presentations and workshops to develop a comprehensive understanding of people's rights and options under SDS.

Why This Role is for You:

  • Community Engagement: You will be out in the community, delivering sessions and making a real impact on people's lives.

  • Empowerment and Independence: Our mission is to assist and develop greater independence, sustained and improved health, and wellbeing for disabled individuals.

  • Learning and Development: Full training will be provided, and you will be supported in developing a deep understanding of SDS to better inform and empower others.

  • Rights-Based Approach: You will play a pivotal role in delivering rights-based information, ensuring that people and carers feel informed, listened to, and less stressed.

Commitment to Learning: Don't worry if you're not familiar with SDS. We value your commitment to learning and your passion for informing others about their rights.

  • Driving Essential: A full driving license and access to a car are essential as you will be mobile throughout the Forth Valley area.

  • Team Player: You will work closely with our small team, contributing to the improvement of our service delivery and the promotion of the Self-Directed Support Service.

  • Effective Communicator: You should be skilled in engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including social workers, individuals with lived experiences, and carers.

  • If you are proactive, organised, and passionate about making a difference, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position. Join us in enabling disabled people to achieve an independent way of life and make the most of their opportunities. Apply today and be a part of our mission to create a more informed and empowered community.
