Job – Inspection Engineer (Building Structures)

Type – Permanent

Location – Glasgow

 

Are you an experienced Structural Engineer looking to make a significant impact? Join our clients Glasgow-based structures team to help them provide top-tier consultancy design services to contractors, developers, and utility clients.

 

Responsibilities

As a Senior/Principal Building Structural Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, checking, and managing multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Conducting detailed structural analysis and design checks, primarily on bridges.
  • Overseeing site inspections and supervising construction.
  • Coordinating with geotechnical and civil teams across offices.
  • Project managing from concept and tender phases through to detailed design and construction.
  • Representing our team to clients and aiding in winning new projects.
  • Reporting to the structures Technical Director and senior team members.
  • Producing design packages across all project phases.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary resources.
  • Preparing tender submissions.
  • Leading client interactions and project meetings.
  • Guiding junior colleagues and managing financial targets.

 

Background:

  • BEng, MEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar.

·       Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) from relevant institutions is desirable

  • Extensive post-graduate experience in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and 3D modelling software.
  • Experience with primary structural materials (concrete, steel, timber, masonry) and BS/EN standards.
  • Beneficial: Experience in structural condition inspections.
