Full Job Description
NOV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inspection Manager to lead our inspection operations in the UK. Reporting directly to the UK Country Manager, this role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Inspection department, ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and operational standards, and maintaining high levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.,
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Oversee and manage all inspection personnel, including supervisors, administrators, inspectors, and support staff. Foster a positive work environment, promote professional growth, and ensure team performance aligns with company objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Plan, schedule, and allocate resources efficiently to meet customer demands, ensuring all inspections and processes adhere to industry standards and company policies. Good knowledge of OCTG, F.L.U.T and Hard Banding Operations is desirable.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Champion HSE compliance by enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring staff training. Investigate and address any incidents, near misses, or safety concerns proactively.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions. Drive continuous improvement in inspection processes and service delivery.
- Customer Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, handling queries, providing technical guidance, and issuing quotations. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and seek new business opportunities.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance for all inspection equipment, ensuring maximum operational uptime and efficiency.
- Financial & Reporting: Manage department budgets, provide monthly financial reports and forecasts, and ensure cost-effective operations. Generate and present key performance metrics to local and corporate teams.
- Recruitment & Training: Lead the hiring and training of both permanent and temporary staff. Ensure all employees are competent, well-trained, and compliant with industry regulations. Support succession planning and internal development.
Proven leadership experience in an inspection or engineering environment. - Strong understanding of Drillpipe & OCTG , Inspection processes, and industry standards.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and manage resources efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality and HSE compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in handling budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
- Ability to mentor, coach, and develop employees to enhance team performance.
