Full Job Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively working with our manufacturing client based outside Glasgow to appoint an interim assistant financial controller for a 4-6 month period. We are looking to ideally engage with Qualified by Experience candidates or Part-Qualified individuals.


Responsibilities:

  • Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit
  • Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
  • Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
  • Creating monthly, quarterly and annual budget reports
  • Ensuring accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines
  • Carrying out financial audits
  • Creating financial statements for management
  • Collaborating with the IT department to create a system to maintain financial records
  • Dealing with payroll, invoices, expenses and VAT
  • Producing financial forecasts
  • Reconciling accounts

The role is hybrid with 3 days per week on-site and 2 WFH. The role is for an initial 4-6 month period and will pay £40-45k.
