Hays Senior Finance are exclusively partnered with an established Environmental business in the Argyll & Bute area to recruit an interim Financial Controller. Joining a sustainably focussed business, our client are innovators in the market with an exceptional reputation. Based on a hybrid model, 2 days in the office, the financial controller will be responsible for the success of the site and delivery of a number of contracts within the portfolio. This is a temporary contract 3-6 months in duration, offering 350 per day or 80,000 per annum (pro rata).

This role would suit an immediately available (or soon-to-be) qualified Accountant with experience of working in a fast-paced commercial organisation. The expected start date is at the end of April following an interview.

Your new role
The Financial Controller will be given a varied remit from reporting on Business Performance and working with operational teams to deliver on various contracts. Offering insight, guidance and commercial analysis, the Financial Controller will support the consolidation and provision of insightful reports on financial and non-financial performance as part of the monthly and quarterly reporting cycle across the business. Utilising technical and commercial foresight, you will oversee the production of monthly/quarterly /bi-annual and annual reporting and look for process improvements along the way.
With one direct report at part qualified level, this role will face into the business and wider group, liaising with a variety of stakeholders at site level and across the UK. This is a hands-on role encompassing month-end accounts, forecasts, cashflow forecasts and budgets, including the provision of insightful variance analysis.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified Accountant prepared to travel to the site circa twice per week. You will have significant experience in a Financial Controller capacity with an ability to work with financial and non-financial stakeholders. Experience with contracts would be advantageous but not essential. Good financial systems experience and excel are preferred.
