Interim Senior Accountant

Anderson Knight are delighted to continue our partnership with our valued client, a leading Scottish entertainment organisation with the appointment of an Interim Senior Accountant, who will report directly to the Finance Director.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Deal with adhoc project issues.
• Partner and drive engagement with key stakeholders across the business.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to management including overhead analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with the preparation of tax filings.
• Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, driving a culture of continuous improvement.

The main candidate will be:

• Fully qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
• Expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
