Full Job Description

Home based role with regular travel HC-One are on a mission to be the first choice care home for Residents and colleagues in each of the communities we serve. Kindness is our guiding ethos and we have ambitious plans for the future and we would love to have your expertise on board to play a crucial part in making them a reality. As an Interior Designer for HC One, you will be instrumental in transforming spaces to meet company and resident needs and enhance their environments. Your primary responsibilities include designing both permanent architectural details and temporary elements. You'll engage with the operations team and colleagues through regular meetings to assess their requirements, ensuring your designs align with their vision. Utilising CAD software, you will produce drawings and floor plans, while creating idea boards to effectively communicate design concepts. You'll select design strategies and colour palettes to craft cohesive, aesthetically pleasing interiors, enhancing functionality by careful space planning and arranging furnishings, artwork, and décor. Budget management is a key aspect of your role; you'll work within project budgets covering all aspects of FF&E (furniture, fixings and equipment), collaborating with the operations team to ensure compliance. You will establish project timelines, coordinating deliveries and vendor involvement. Your networking efforts will help develop a robust supplier base, and you'll stay informed about trends and new products, particularly in the care sector. Adhering to national and local building and safety codes will be essential in every design element. You will be required to travel to homes at various points during active projects - scoping, overseeing progress on site and fit out days as a minimum. Your passion for design and commitment to creating functional, beautiful spaces will be vital to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our residents and their families.

You will hold a BA (Hons) in Interior Design or equivalent and have over two years of experience in the field, including work within the care sector. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you excel in building relationships and working closely with internal and external teams. A level of empathy, kindness and respect is required when interacting with residents and families. You are adept at planning and prioritising tasks, overseeing project budgets, and managing orders. Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop. Some knowledge of creating 3D visualisations using Google SketchUp or 3D Studio is desirable. Your project management skills and understanding of care facility fit-outs enable you to deliver designs that enhance the lives of all residents. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation with a firm focus on quality. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
