Full Job Description

Here are some of the duties your role will include: -

· Manage a suite of established communications channels, reviewing regularly and looking externally at what’s happening elsewhere to implement best IC practice.

· Manage the delivery of IC content to time and production deadlines, with the appropriate tone, language, content and house-style.

· Support a wide range of communications across Network Rail Scotland. This will be written and digital content and good language/digital skills are a must.

· Work with Senior IC Managers to deliver the internal communications strategy.

· Develop and deliver production schedules for internal communications channels planning content and looking ahead at all times.

· Work with IC Business Partners for the region / route to deliver internal communications content that meets business objectives.

· Work collaboratively with other Communications colleagues to deliver “joined-up” internal and external messages, including our national communications team.

· Support regular colleague events to help our senior leaders better connect, communicate and engage with their people.

· Create communications plans to support a wide range of campaigns and changes happening across the organisation eg. safety initiatives.

· Be a trusted advisor, provide IC support and guidance to stakeholders.

We’re looking for an experienced communicator, with brilliant digital skills. That includes filming, video editing, digital/graphic design and a knowledge of social channels. They’ll be responsible for managing a suite of channels, and regularly reviewing them to make sure they’re relevant and engaging. They’ll have a nose for a story, and the ability to seek out, and write about life across Network Rail Scotland. With great stakeholder, event management and planning skills, this is a varied role which will expose you to all parts of the business., · Education to degree level or professional qualification in Communications

· Sound knowledge of strategic corporate communications practices

· Substantial experience of internal communication

· Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives

· Ability to influence and impact key decisions at a senior level

· Ability to shape and deliver key messages to various audiences and their individual needs

· Experience of managing a team

· Excellent writing skills

· Editorial/journalist skills

Desirable

· Experience of Project/ budgetary control management

· Change management experience
