The Edinburgh Academy is a fully co-educational school. The School consists of a Senior School, Junior School and a Nursery Department. The School is a member of HMC.
The Edinburgh Academy moved to full co-education across the whole school in 2008. The Junior and Senior Schools are on separate sites, both of which have spacious grounds and sports facilities including extensive playing fields, an all-weather sports area, and a large Sports Hall and Centre.

We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice.
Location: 42 Henderson Row, Edinburgh, EH3 5BL
Program: IT Support Professional - SCQF Level 8
(Please note that we intend to interview for this role on Monday 20th January 2025.)
Duties: [will be to:]
- Provide first-line technical support to staff and pupils, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other technology equipment across campus.
- Assist with managing user accounts, permissions, and access control for various systems and applications.
- Support teachers with classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards, projectors, and other AV equipment.
- Monitor and manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues and communication with users.
- Assist the MIS Manager in the maintenance, updating, and troubleshooting of the school’s Management Information System (MIS), ensuring accurate and secure data management.
- Provide support for data administration tasks, including report generation, data imports/exports, and resolving data-related issues to ensure seamless school operations.
- Document and update technical processes and troubleshooting steps for common issues.
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with the IT team on projects to improve and upgrade school technology systems.
What we are looking for:
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other standard software.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting, Wi-Fi management, and general network security practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Patience, a positive attitude, and a commitment to giving excellent customer service.
Salary:
£18,000 per annum.
Working week:
Our core hours are between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Total: 40hrs a week.
