Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an IT Database Administrator. As an IT Database Administrator (DBA) you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining the SQL Server environment. You will help support the business areas on their database requirements, working on requests and incidents. As well as liaising with Project Managers and Customers to provide technical support and guidance for projects.,
- You will configure, manage, and maintain SQL Server environments.
- As well as monitor system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance and availability.
- Be involved in supporting Disaster Recovery tests, as well as developing and maintaining procedures to ensure that systems can be recovered in the event of a disaster.
- You will work on project activities, collaborating with other teams.
- Support the business on incidents and request resolutions for the SQL server environment.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in database administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. You should also have a solid understanding of database management systems and be familiar with SQL and other programming languages like Microsoft Azure., You will have extensive experience of Microsoft SQL Server. - Experience of database backup and restore procedures.
- Have a good understanding of Microsoft Server platforms.
- Experience of designing technical solutions fit for purpose.
- Problem solving skills to identify root causes and offer solutions.
- Ability to prioritize their work to deliver business requests and project demand on time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong experience working within a team environment and independently.
- Willingness to work out of business hours and on-call when required.
- Knowledge of other operating systems or databases would be an advantage.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Experience of SolarWinds and Service Now.
