Full Job Description
As an IT Support Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for resolving IT-related issues within a hybrid working environment. Your expertise will ensure minimal downtime and enhance productivity for our users. This role involves a balance of technical troubleshooting, user support, and collaboration across teams. Upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include: First Line Support:
- Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist users with login problems, password resets, and account setup
- Incident Management:
- Log, track, and escalate issues using our ticketing system.
- Prioritize incidents based on severity and impact on business operations. Hardware and Software Support:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Manage software applications via MDM and RMM tools. Network Support:
- Troubleshoot network connectivity for wired and wireless connections.
- Set up and configure routers, switches, and firewalls Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
- Create and update knowledge base articles. User Training and Education:
- Provide training on IT systems and applications.
- Promote IT security and data protection best practices. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with IT team members to resolve complex issues.
- Communicate with end-users to gather necessary information for issue resolution.
Proven experience as a 1st/2nd Line Support Technician or similar role. - Knowledge of Windows device management and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Customer-oriented with a patient and positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel for vessel mobilization as needed.
- Ability to work independently. Grow together with Beam where you will learn and use the following:
- Ubuntu OS management.
- Gain experience in a small team, fast-paced environment.
- Virtualization and VDI technologies.
- Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, SQL Server, ConnectWise, Freshservice.
- Marine environment supporting vessel based infrastructure
- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
