Full Job Description
The Junior Site Engineer will support inter-island cable installation projects within the Subsea Services department around the UK and North West Europe. The successful candidate will predominantly be working on shore side subsea cable installations and related tasks whilst assisting in the planning, design, and execution of the overall project. There will also be opportunity to gain experience working offshore as part of the vessel installation team and on other offshore construction projects. Principal Responsibilities
- You are part of the project team delivering major offshore and onshore subsea cable projects.
- Providing engineering input concerning preparation of subsea cable installation methodologies, documents and drawings.
- Responsible for onshore engineering solutions for our cable installation projects.
- Carry out the measurement, setting out, and monitoring of site works.
- Assist the Project/Site managers in the day-to-day management of site operations.
- Ensure environmental and archaeology compliance is being adhered to on site.
- Undertake as-built surveys and document final construction details (as-built information).
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Assist in the procurement and management of materials, plant and equipment
- Attend site operations including site visits, shore end pull ins and work on the vessels as part of the offshore team.
Civil Engineering background with a minimum HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent - You have excellent communication and language skills in English (written and spoken).
- You have a hands-on approach, are a strong team player and have professional attitude towards Health & Safety.
- SMSTS/SSSTS and first aid qualifications.
- Knowledge of how to use a total station or similar., You must be able to provide relevant documentation confirming that you have the right to work in the UK
