Kitchen Assistant, Goathill Campus, Isle of Lewis (9548)
18.5 hours per week, term time, Fixed term position of one year
£13,737 - £13,872 per annum, inclusive of £1,371 Distant Islands Allowance

Required for 18.5 hours per week at Taigh Shiphoirt within the Goathill Campus. This is a newly built 52 bedded care home in Stornoway comprising of 4 wings {Bosta, Garry, Coll, and Dalmore} each with 13 en-suite bedrooms. The care home offers 24 hour care and support to older people who may have a range of complex health issues, including dementia.

You will provide general support to cooks by, cooking under supervision, preparing ingredients, cleaning, washing up, carrying out dining room duties and duties in the home as required.

You should have previous experience of kitchen duties, preferably in a work setting and experience of cleaning, preferably to a cleaning schedule. You should have the ability to understand, retain and act on instructions along with the ability to work in a team.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade. This post is for a fixed term of one year.
