Full Job Description
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates for the position of Kitchen Porter who will be responsible for assisting the Senior Steward / Chef in the correct running of the kitchen., Duties include:
- To ensure a continuous supply of plates and polished cutlery is always available if required
- Requisition of necessary store items, liaising with the Chief Steward for authorisation
- Ensure salt and peppershakers are clean and filled daily and lids are replaced as necessary ifrequired
- Sweeping and mopping of the floor between all meal and break times
- Cleaning the tables during and after service if required
- Emptying bins, bottle bins and ensuring that all areas of responsibility are always clean and tidy
- Cleaning of the service counter, emptying, and cleaning Bain Marie
- Daily cleaning of all surfaces behind service counter, milk machine, cutlery trays and trolleys.
- Relay any complaints or comments to the Chief Steward and Head Chef WEEKLY CLEANING DUTIES:
- Cleaning inside of fridges
- Defrosting and cleaning the freezer
- Cleaning of all walls
- Reporting any equipment faults to the chief steward
- All other duties you may be required to perform in stewarding as directed by the Chief Steward and Chefs
Experienced in the Kitchen Department as a kitchen porter/assistant - Willingness to work
- Ability to work under pressure with strong organizational skills
- Confident, professional, and welcoming personality
- Ability to carry out manual tasks
- Ability to work alone and in a team
- Hardworking, honest, and reliable
- Polite and helpful manner when dealing with guests and team members
- Assure a high standard of personal hygiene, with special attention to uniform
