Full Job Description

Our mission in the Payments Services Platform (PSP) is to offer compliant and efficient payment capabilities for LBG. We drive innovation to ensure customers can move money confidently, quickly, and securely. PSP is a vital part of Group Payments, serving the entire LBG organisation as an enterprise function.

Join our journey to establish a centre of excellence for digital assets and currencies. We need a Lab PO to lead our new Digital Assets & Currencies (Paytech) Lab within PSP. The Lab PO will encourage their team to tackle business problems and deliver customer value by crafting innovative solutions. You'll work with the lead engineer to build and develop the team, encouraging a culture of innovation and experimentation.

Here's where you'll make a difference:

  • We need someone who can conceptualise and understand the potential of Digital Assets, tokenization, API, and Distributed Ledger technologies to help LBG grow in this market.

  • Work with our Fintech, Innovation, and Proposition teams to craft the direction the Group should take, exploring and exploiting new technologies.

  • By guiding LBG in exploring options for its customers and clients to make payments, transact, and settle liabilities in the increasingly digital marketplaces of the future.

Extensive experience in product development and delivery through large cross-functional teams, deploying strategic technology solutions, and engaging with global partners and suppliers.

  • Experience collaborating with FinTechs and other technical organisations towards a common goal.

  • The capability to impact various levels of the organization and externally, and effectively communicate choices and decisions to senior leaders. Ability to "sell" new insights and concepts to aid adoption internally across the Group, and externally across the Industry.

  • Track record of building a positive culture that attracts and retains talent, alongside evidence of encouraging capability growth, people development, and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in developing strategies and implementing plans to achieve organisational goals in alignment with the overall strategy.

  • Extensive knowledge of sophisticated banking products in the area of Trade Finance, Treasury, Settlements, and Financial Markets. As well as knowledge of the Payments domain, including the wider industry landscape, considering how the new Payments marketplace would integrate with existing Payment types and schemes.

  • Technical/Engineering background and/or technical experience leading a team delivering brand new technologies.

  • We need someone who can conceptualise and understand the potential of Digital Assets, tokenization, API, and Distributed Ledger technologies to help LBG grow in this market.

  • And any experience of these would be really useful:
  • Experience working within a change environment would be an advantage. As would an appreciation of the technical landscape within the bank, the ability to support shaping solutions, and to articulate them to a wide range of audiences.

Join us and, as well as making a difference to customers, you'll enjoy a fulfilling career where you're free to be yourself. Great colleagues, transforming workspaces, hybrid working and a wide variety of career opportunities - you'll find them all here., At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

  • We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we're building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

And it's why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We're disability confident. So, if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
