Job Title: Lab Support Technician
Salary: from £25,350 to £30,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: GSK, Cobden Street, Montrose, Angus, Scotland, DD10 8EA

We are excited to announce an opening for a Lab Support Technician within our Labs Stream to support our pharmaceutical client in Montrose. This role provides an excellent introduction to laboratory instrumentation. The Lab Support Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring minimal downtime of instrumentation and will undertake various tasks across the site to assist analysts in product release. Key responsibilities include managing subcontractors, performing repairs and maintenance on HPLC and GC instruments, overseeing lab consumables inventory, conducting cryogenic refills, managing glassware, handling waste, and disposing of samples.

The ideal candidate will excel at maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring that both planned and reactive maintenance is completed within specified time frames, and supporting the supply chain with contract renewals. We are looking for someone who holds a degree in a science discipline, preferably chemistry, and has experience as an operator in HPLC and GC, along with knowledge or experience in troubleshooting and maintaining chromatography systems. Familiarity with SAP and Empower is advantageous, and candidates should have over a year of experience working in a GxP laboratory environment.

We seek an enthusiastic, hardworking, and customer-focused individual with strong organizational skills. This position is perfect for an experienced analyst looking to transition into instrument maintenance, as it offers a hands-on opportunity to work across several labs on site.
