Full Job Description

Applications are invited for a LAT post for NHS Tayside available from 5th February 2025 until 5th  August 2025.

The post will be based in Ninewells Hospital. The post holder will be required to work under the supervision of consultant staff in the management of emergency and elective General Surgical patients.  The post holders will contribute to a 24/7 registrar rota. 

The appointees will be expected to perform at a level equivalent to that of at least ST3.

The posts are aimed at doctors actively preparing for an application to ST3 General Surgery National Selection commencing August 2025.

There will be contribution to emergency duties in General Surgery at Ninewells Hospital Dundee, coupled with compensatory days off.  The other weeks will involve elective surgical work in the Department of General Surgery in Ninewells Hospital, Perth Royal Infirmary, and Stracathro Hospital.

 

The posts are recognised for training by the Postgraduate Dean.  The posts are of high educational value and can count towards training time within the ST Grade.
