Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Health and Social Care Support Worker to join the Care at Home Team in Lochaber.

The post holder will work effectively supporting a programme of care as appropriate to promote optimum achievable self-care and reablement/rehabilitation to allow patients to remain living in their own homes.

Applicants will be expected to adhere to NHS Highland/Highland Council policies and procedures and all relevant local and national standards, and strictly adhere to NHS Highland/Highland Council policies on confidentiality.

Applicants should show willingness and interest in continuing professional development, undertaking relevant activities to meet training objectives identified through supervision, including SVQ Health and Social Care Level 3.

This role works within a rota system and includes flexible, unsociable hours and weekend working.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
