We're recruiting for a Lead Protective Monitoring Analyst here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative DISO team. This role aligns against Monitoring Lead from the Government Security Profession framework. This is a vital role in the protection of the Ministry of Justice's technology, systems and services alongside the vital information they contain. The Security Operations Centre provides security monitoring across the Ministry of Justice. The team aims to provide constant vigilance against security attacks, respond when they do occur, and continuously seek out ways to improve the security of our systems. The team is a mix of Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics and Monitoring specialists. These are made up of a mix of SEO, HEO and EO roles with plenty of collaboration and development both horizontally and vertically. You'll be joining as a Lead Analyst in the Protective Monitoring team, working on the active defence of the Ministry of Justice digital and technology solutions against cyber security threats. Working closely with stakeholders, developers and network teams, you'll help ensure that threats and vulnerabilities are dealt with effectively and that people are kept informed about their services. You'll focus on the impact on real people, and look for ways to make things safer for them. You'll also be learning the tools we use to do the job, and improving your skills in Cybersecurity while supporting junior analysts' learning, and senior analysts' investigations.   • Proactively monitor logs and event information to effectively identify and help mitigate potential threats to the MoJ.

  • Previous experience working in a cyber security environment.
  • Understanding of complex cases involving cyber security incidents - such as suspected data breaches, intellectual property theft, insider threat investigations, fraud and abuse, and asset misuse. Understand own level of responsibility and empower others to make decisions where appropriate. Analyse and use a range of relevant, credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions.
  • Experienced team leader who can demonstrate pride and passion for their role, engaging with others to delivering a shared vision. Value difference, diversity and inclusion, ensuring fairness and opportunity for all.
  • Take responsibility for delivering timely and quality results with focus and drive, respond to unexpected events quickly with a logical plan, taking into account policies, goals and resources.

    The national salary range is £39,868 - £43,535, London salary range is £45,824 - £50,039. Your salary will be dependent on your base location Total pay in the range of '£30,001 to £40,000, £40,001 to £50,000, £50,001 to £60,000' are subject to capability, skills and experience.
